Queen of England gave a knighthood to the "brains" behind the design of various products of Apple, Jonathan Ive. Knighthood is entitled to affix the word Ive made "Sir" before his name. The title was awarded the Queen of England to coincide with the new year 2012.
Ive currently serves as Apple's Senior Vice President of Industrial Design has become an icon Apple product design. He is considered responsible for leading product design such as iPod, iPhone until the iPad. Title of Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is the second award for Ive, having previously received the title of honorary Commander of the British Empire.
Despite having got knighted, Ive thought that the title was not to be proud of. He felt compelled to humble and grateful to those who have supported his career at Apple. "I feel very fortunate to continue to design and create products with people who truly extraordinary at Apple." Ive said.
Ive is a graduate of Bachelor of Arts degree and received an honorary doctorate from Newcastle Polytechnic. In 2003, Ive got a title of Designer of the Year by the Design Museum London and awarded the title Royal Designer for industry from The Royal Society of Arts.
Initially Ive worked with Apple through the company designs Tangerine.Kemudian he moved to California and joined the Apple.Saat Jobs returned to Apple, the two finally met and worked with closely.
